Chinese Government Signed an Aid Agreement with and International Organizations such as UNWFP and Actively Fulfilled Humanitarian Aid Promise
In order to fully fulfill President Xi Jinping’s foreign aid promise made at the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation and to help the relevant Asian and African countries to cope with their food shortage, Vice Minister of Commerce and Deputy China International Trade Representative Yu Jianhua signed agreements with representatives from UNWFP, UNICEF and ICRC respectively, aiming to provide earmarking fund as humanitarian aid for Afghanistan, Pakistan, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Cameroon and Somalia. At present, MOFCOM is arranging the implementation of the aid projects and helping related countries to deal with humanitarian crisis.
